DR. X: HOW I AVENGED MY MOTHER'S MURDER, A ONE-WOMAN SHOW
An autobiographical solo performance, "Dr. X" is the story of how the negligence of a Caucasian Vietnam Veteran, who systematically targeted Vietnamese women in the San Francisco Bay Area for plastic surgery operations, was responsible for the death of my mother. Told through the perspective of 8 characters, the piece is an honest and intimate sharing of my mother’s story and my process of coming to accept it. Primarily a dramatic piece, though not without comedic strokes, the piece will also examine Vietnamese conceptions of beauty, dying, and spirituality. Doors open at 1:30pm. Buy tickets here.
